A match due to be played this weekend at the stadium that will host the Socceroos' World Cup clash with the Netherlands in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre has been cancelled due to incomplete infrastructure work.
Local club Internacional are due to play games which will be used as test events at the Estadio Beira-Rio in front of limited attendances from Sunday.
They will be used as preparation for the tournament which kicks off on June 12 when Brazil take on Croatia in Sao Paulo.
The Beiro-Rio will be used for four group matches and one knock-out game with the first encounter to played on June 15 when France face Honduras.
Ange Postecoglou's men will face the Dutch three days later in their second game after opening up their campaign on June 14 against Chile in Curitiba, which is in danger of being dropped from the event due to stadium construction delays.
FIFA have given local organisers a deadline of February 18 for work to be completed at the Arena da Baixada, where the Socceroos will also play their final group match against world champions Spain.
Police in Porto Alegre said on Thursday a bank inside the stadium was robbed and workers were held hostage for several minutes before being released unharmed. No one was arrested.
Internacional had already practised at the new venue a few days ago, with fans not allowed to watch.
Brazil had promised to have all 12 World Cup stadiums ready by the end of 2013 but five remain under construction.
