More than 100 Vic firefighters head to WA

Victoria is sending more than 100 Country Fire Authority firefighters and an incident management team to help WA's bushfire effort.

More than 100 Victorian firefighters will help West Australian crews battle fires in the state's south west.

Victoria's emergency management commissioner Craig Lapsley says WA wanted the Country Fire Authority firefighters and an incident management team to assist their crews.

"They will be away for all of this week, over the weekend and back in Victoria early next week, which is when we will reach our highest fire danger rating (over the next seven days)," Mr Lapsley said.

It's been a fraught weekend for firefighters in the southern part of WA, particularly in Waroona, south of Perth, where one home and several sheds, cars and equipment were destroyed by a lightning sparked blaze.
