More than half of Australians support reinstating a building and construction watchdog.

ABC Vote Compass data shows 54 per cent of Australians want to see the building commission re established.

The prime minister called a double dissolution election after the Senate voted down legislation to bring back the building watchdog.

The data also showed strong support for the creation of a federal anti-corruption watchdog, with 82 per cent of respondents saying they would like to see one established.
