Morning session rained out at Bellerive

Play is yet to get underway on day two of the Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive after morning rain.

Rain has prevented any play on day two of the Sheffield Shield match between Tasmania and Victoria at Bellerive.

The covers have been removed with ground staff preparing the surface and the umpires due to inspect the conditions at 1.15pm (AEDT).

Lunch has been taken with Victoria to resume at 3-119 after 46 overs were bowled on a rain-marred day one.

Former Test batsman Rob Quiney is unbeaten on 57, while night watchman Scott Boland faced 20 balls without opening his account on Wednesday.

Test opener Chris Rogers was out for three, Peter Handscomb for 19 and Cameron White for 33.

The wickets have been shared evenly by James Faulkner (1-17), Adam Maher (1-36) and Mark Cosgrove (1-1).
