Morrison visit to Manus Island a 'PR stunt'

An asylum seeker advocacy group has criticised a visit to Australia's immigration detention facility on Manus Island by the Opposition's immigration spokesman.

A refugee activist has labelled Opposition immigration spokesman Scott Morrison's visit to the Manus Island detention facility a publicity stunt.

Ian Rintoul of the Refugee Action Coalition says detainees on the island have complained that during the visit Mr Morrison barely spoke to them, and showed no interest in inspecting their living conditions.

Mr Rintoul tells Kristina Kukolja it's disappointing behaviour from a senior political figure.
