"We believe the high taxing and big spending promised by Labor would not be in the nation's best interests and would risk imposing long-term debt on a generation." - Melbourne's Sunday Herald Sun.

--

"Mr Shorten is asking us to forsake the solid economic path being followed by Mr Morrison and his government to gamble on his high-spending utopian vision, locking in historically high spending at a time of high debt and international volatility." - Brisbane's Sunday Mail.

--

"... (Scott Morrison) does represent a safer pair of hands. And empowered by an election victory of his own, he would have the freedom to steer the coalition back to the ground it dominated under John Howard: Competent, stable, efficient." - Sydney's Sunday Telegraph

--

"Mr Morrison must take note that more needs to be done for middle and lower Australia. But times of economic instability need his steady hand, not the uncertainty of Labor's radical change cash splashes, cost blow outs and risk-taking." - Adelaide's Sunday Mail.

--

"Voters have genuine concerns ... and while some will be driven to the fringes, many will simply be looking for smart people to go to Canberra with good ideas and the chance of making a difference." - Sydney's The Sun-Herald.

--

"A united approach to tackling this (climate) emergency is needed. The time for shallow partisan politics has long past. Our future depends on it." - Melbourne's Sunday Age.
