Mother pleads guilty to high-speed chase

A Sydney mother who crashed into five cars during a high-speed police pursuit with her two children in the car has pleaded guilty to two charges

A Sydney mother who led police on a high-speed chase with her two children in the car will remain behind bars after pleading guilty to two charges.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty at Liverpool Local Court via videolink to driving without a licence and failing to stop.

However, she did not enter a plea for reckless driving, negligent driving or speeding.

Police allege the woman ran a red light as she exited the M5 at Moorebank on Saturday night.

She then accelerated away as police gave chase, allegedly reaching speeds up to 110km/h in a 60km/h zone.

During the pursuit she side swiped three cars, rear-ended a fourth and finally came to a stop in a front yard after hitting a van.

A three-month-old boy and a 14-month-old girl were in the car throughout the chase, police said.

She was refused bail and will undergo a psychiatric assessment.

She will be sentenced on July 29.
