Newcastle coach-in-waiting Nathan Brown believes Robbie Farah can revitalise his career by getting away from Wests Tigers.
Farah is digging in his heels, insisting he's ready to see out the remaining two years of his lucrative Wests Tigers contract despite being urged to leave by coach Jason Taylor.
But former hooker Brown believes a move could be the best thing for NSW Origin rake Farah, allowing him to play a more creative role again.
Speaking before Newcastle confirmed its intention to sign him as coach, Brown indicated Farah had been reined in this season as Wests Tigers look to young halves Luke Brooks and Mitch Moses to guide the team.
Significantly Farah appeared to send a message to Taylor with a man of the match performance in the struggling Tigers' 50-16 romp over the Warriors last weekend.
"Robbie until the other day had just been standing and shovelling the ball," Brown said on Fox Sports' Sterlo On The Couch program on Wednesday night.
"So from a person who's played hooker and (has been) lucky enough to coach some good hookers, I think if Robbie Farah goes and plays for someone else he'll look back and say they've done him a favour.
"I think he'll get to play the style of footy that's going to suit him and he'll get to take the good things that happened at the Tigers and help improve another club.
"The club that gets him, gets him on a cheap rate and the Tigers get to move forward and unfortunately for them lump a fair bit of his wages towards it.
"I think it would be a good move for Robbie Farah."
