The medical aid agency Medecins Sans Frontieres has withdrawn from Somalia after 22 years of working in the horn of Africa troublespot.

It's blamed violence against its aid workers that it says is condoned by armed groups and civilian leaders and a disregard for humanitarian activities, for the decision.

 

The closure of its operations is likely to impact thousands of Somalis who rely on its medical care.

 

President of the MSF, Doctor Unni Karunakara, explained the decision to Ildi Amon.
