Mum's tears for son after Qld river find

Friends and family of Jamal Enosa have posted messages of grief on social media after the three-year-old's body was found in a Queensland river.

The mother of a three-year-old found dead in a far north Queensland river says she can still see her little boy's face.

Jamal Enosa's body was found in the North Johnstone River on Wednesday night, more than 24 hours after he went missing while playing with children near Innisfail Wharf.

His body showed no signs of trauma and it's believed he wasn't attacked by a crocodile but drowned.

Friends and family have started posting messages of condolence and grief on social media.

"I miss you so much mummy loving waba-boy," his mother Grace Enosa posted on Facebook on Thursday afternoon.

"Steal (sic) crying for you and seeing ur face and your brother miss you so much."

The little boy was last seen by his father, Bryce Little, with a fishing rod.

Mr Little, who had jumped into crocodile-inhabited waters to search for the boy, told Channel Nine Jamal was his "best friend".

The family had arrived in Innisfail on their sailing boat the day before Jamal went missing.

People have left waterside floral tributes and messages for the little boy and a candlelight vigil will be held at the Innisfail Esplanade on Friday night.
