Murder accused in Qld bedside hearing

A Queensland man facing seven counts of attempted murder will face a Brisbane court next month.

A Queensland man facing seven counts of attempted murder for allegedly driving a prime-mover into a house and setting it on fire has had a bedside court hearing.

A 16-year-old girl suffered serious burns in the blaze at Oakhurst, near Maryborough, on Sunday morning.

Police say seven people were inside when the home was torched. They all got out but the house was destroyed.

Dennis Ian Harris, 53, is facing 16 charges over the incident.

They include seven counts of attempted murder, four counts of arson, and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

On Monday afternoon a bedside hearing was held at the Royal Brisbane Hospital where Harris is being treated, a Brisbane Magistrates Court official told AAP.

Harris was remanded in custody and his case was adjourned until April 14.
