Murder charges over Sydney home invasion

Two men have been charged with murder and attempted murder following the death of a 69-year-old man in a home invasion in Sydney's west.

Two men have been charged with murder and attempted murder following an aggravated home invasion in Sydney's west earlier this year.

Police say the men, aged 23 and 26, will appear in court on Wednesday following their arrests and the execution of search warrants at Kemps Creek and Orchard Hills on Tuesday.

The aggravated home invasion was alleged to have occurred at a home at Badgerys Creek in western Sydney on May 29.

A man and a woman were injured and Keith Cini, 69, later died.

Police believe the robbery is linked to a second home invasion at Medway on April 23.

Both arrested men were charged with murder, attempted murder and break, enter and steal in special circumstances of aggravation.

The 23-year-old was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old was refused bail and will appear in Port Kembla Local Court, also on Wednesday.

Police have seized a number of items including a bobcat, drugs and cash.
