Murder charges over Vic body find

Two of the three people arrested over the death of Melbourne man Wayne Amey are now facing a murder charge.

Police have laid murder charges against two men after a Melbourne father was allegedly kidnapped, killed and dumped in Victorian bushland.

Torsten Trabert, 44, of Preston, was originally charged with intentionally causing serious injury and accessory to murder in connection with the death of Wayne Amey.

But homicide detectives upgraded the charges against him to one count of murder, an out-of-sessions court hearing was told on Thursday.

Trabert was arrested in possession of Mr Amey's car three days after Mr Amey was kidnapped from his Hawthorn home, Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles told the hearing.

Police also charged John Anthony Ryan, 36, with murder late on Thursday evening.

Both men have been remanded in custody to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.

Mr Amey's former partner, Robyn Lindholm, is already facing charges of being an accessory to murder.

Mr Amey, 54, was last seen leaving a Toorak restaurant on December 10.

The body of a man, believed to be Mr Amey, was found near the summit of Mount Korong in central Victoria hours after Lindholm faced court accused of helping to dispose of the body while coming down off the drug ice.
