Andy Murray has cruised into the US Open second round, scoring a straight sets win over Michael Llodra to open his title defence.

Defending US Open champion Andy Murray has raced into the US Open second round with a 6-2 6-4 6-3 win over veteran French player Michael Llodra.

The third-seeded Murray goes on to face Argentina's Leonardo Mayer for a place in the last 32.
