A woman who has devoted more than 25 years to helping women and promoting harmony between multicultural comunities has been revered with this year's New South Wales Human Rights Award.
The winner is the head of the Muslim Women's Association, Maha Abdo.
The Minister for Communities, Victor Dominello says Ms Abdo is a champion of multiculturulaism and an advocate for the elimination of racial and gender discrimination.
Maha Abdo provided her reflections on being named this year's winner to Greg Dyett.
