Rafael Nadal has barely broken sweat to reach the French Open semi-finals, with fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta quitting with an injury less than an hour into their quarter-final.
The fourth-seeded Nadal, bidding for a 10th title at Roland Garros, was leading 6-2 2-0 on Wednesday when the 20th-seeded Carreno Busta said he could not continue.
Carreno Busta had received lengthy treatment on an abdominal injury at the end of the first set.
Nadal, 31, has spent only around eight hours on court, dropping 22 games in the process, to reach his record-extending 10th semi-final in Paris.
"I am in semi-finals with a very positive feelings," Nadal said.

"I played well in all the matches here. I have positive feelings and am playing well.
"This was obviously was not the perfect way and especially against a good friend."
Nadal will face Dominic Thiem in the last four after the Austrian dismissed defending champion Novak Djokovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 6-0.
