NAPLAN tests get under way

Thousands of Australian school children will on Tuesday start sitting their annual NAPLAN tests to assess them in reading, writing and numeracy.

Students across Australia will start sitting this year's NAPLAN tests on Tuesday.

The National Assessment Program is an annual national assessment for all students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9, testing them in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy.

The results for each school are published on the My School website, that helps parents and educators assess the performance of schools.
