After 232 NRL games Nate Myles is proof that you can still teach an old dog new tricks.
The 32-year-old Melbourne Storm recruit says his game is continuing to evolve at his fifth NRL club.
Myles played his first match for Melbourne in round 18 against Parramatta, after his mid-season switch from Manly, with his appearance stalled by an elbow injury suffered in Origin I.
Myles said he wasn't expecting Storm coach Craig Bellamy to turn him in to a world-beater at the back end of his career but he hoped the Melbourne mentor could still bring the best out of his game.
"The club focuses a lot on individuals, focusing on their weaknesses and for me there's probably a lot so I've got a bit to work on," Myles said.

"For me there's a lot of weaknesses through the attacking side so to get down here and get some honest feedback through Craig, it sits you back a bit but it also makes you work a bit harder."
Myles is looking forward to renewing his on-field relationship with his former Queensland teammates Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk, who missed the Eels loss due to Origin duty.
He said he was amazed by what those players could still produce, both at the Storm and at representative level.
"It's not so much similarities between Queensland and the Storm but this year there was a benefit with Cameron Munster going into five-eighth and being familiar with the other Storm boys," Myles said.
"I do think that, for sure, translated into a better attacking game but I think it's a result of everyone standing up and having a blinder of a game."
Myles' move south has come a little earlier with strong family ties to Melbourne, through his actress wife Tessa.
Her father Stephen James played 77 AFL games for Richmond through the 1990s.
"To be around family is a big thing for her and we were very fortunate it worked out the way it did," Myles said.
