Indigenous people in central Victoria are celebrating the finalisation of an agreement with the state government recognising them as traditional owners of their country.

They say the Indigenous Land Use Agreement is the full and final settlement of the Dja Dja Wurrung's native title claims.

Graeme Atkinson is the chair of DjaDja Warrung Aboriginal Clans Aboriginal Corporation, which represents the DjaDja Warrung native title group.

He told Kerri Worthington the official celebrations are the culmination of years of intense negotiations.
