Navy appoints Islamic cultural adviser

The Royal Australian Navy has appointed its first strategy adviser on Islamic cultural affairs.

 

Captain Mona Shindy from the eastern suburbs of Sydney is an engineer and the most senior Muslim serving in the Royal Australian Navy.

 

Her 24 year career has seen her serve in the Iraq War and represent the Navy in Washington.
