NBA slaps tech foul on Dellavedova

Australian point guard Matthew Dellavedova has copped belated tech foul from NBA over his leg lock on Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson.

The NBA has given Matthew Dellavedova a slap on the wrist for his wrestling-style leg lock on Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson.

It slapped a belated technical foul on the Cleveland Cavaliers' Australian point guard on Wednesday. It will cost him $US2000 ($A2,4654).

That's small change for Dellavedova who is on a two-year $US1,306,662 ($A1.61 million) contract with the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers not only won Tuesday's crucial game five playoff 106-101 and took a 3-2 lead in the eastern conference semi-final series, but Gibson was ejected from the game for kicking out at Dellavedova.

The incident happened early in the fourth quarter with the Cavaliers up 83-71.

Dellavedova attempted to block Gibson from the basket.

Gibson shoved the Australian, they fell to the floor and as Gibson tried to get up Dellavedova performed a scissor-like hold on the Bull's legs.

Gibson struck out with his legs toward Dellavedova.

Tensions should be high when the Cavaliers attempt to knock the Bulls out of the playoffs in Chicago on Thursday.
