The Tactical Operations Unit member, who has served for 30 years as a special forces commando in the Australian army, has told the inquest into the siege that windows at the sniper locations and the Lindt Cafe ruled out using snipers.

Police stormed the cafe after Monis shot dead manager Tori Johnson.

Monis was killed by police, while hostage Katrina Dawson died after being hit by police bullet fragments.
