IAG chief executive Peter Harmer has overhauled the insurer's structure and leadership team to make it "customer led and data driven".

Anthony Justice will be chief executive of the Australian consumer division, while Ben Bessell will fill the same role for the domestic business division.

"Our new structure reflects our focus on future profitability by redefining our core businesses around our customers and establishing three functions to provide the insights, products and services our customer-facing divisions need to deliver a world-leading customer experience," said Mr Harmer, who replaced the retiring Mike Wilkins in November.

IAG's Asia and New Zealand businesses will move into a new international division headed up by chief financial officer Nick Hawkins, who will be assisted by deputy CFO Dan Coman.
