The federal government says it's just a matter of time until the Senate supports its controversial reforms to Australia's higher education system.
The Senate has voted down the government's original bill, which would've allowed universities to set their own fees.
Undeterred, Education Minister Christopher Pyne has reintroduced an amended bill into the lower house, saying he's sure the Senate will feel differently after the Christmas break.
