Are you a little over seeing the same Australian actors popping up on different shows on different networks, in occasionally different types of roles?
Well, your prayers may have been answered.
The ABC2 sketch comedy series This Is Littleton, which starts on February 20, features a dozen fresh new faces.
The four-episode series is about life in the fictional town of Littleton and is set in a town hall where each cast member plays at least two roles.
The characters include a mayor, a busking permits officer and a mother who uses the free wi-fi at the library to chat with her daughter who is in a Bali prison.
Director Amanda Brotchie said the casting process was long and tedious but there was the ultimate goal of finding fresh talent.
Not only was the call-out for comedians but they also had to be able to write sketches.
Some even brought their stage show characters to life in This Is Littleton.
There were initially more than 600 submissions for the series, with dozens coming in from New Zealand.
The submissions were whittled down to 70 for the auditions and then 20 for the final workshop.
"The point was to get a new generation of comedy writers and actors and we were overwhelmed with submissions which made it difficult to narrow it down," Brotchie told AAP.
"We even had submissions from New Zealand, and some of those were great, but we ended up casting just from Australia.
"It was only when we got down to the final 20 for the workshop did we tell them we what the show was about."
Even though Brotchie succeeded in casting a dozen or so relatively little-known comedians, a couple of them have started popping up elsewhere.
Matt Okine and Ronny Chieng have appeared in the TV shows Dirty Laundry and It's A Date, respectively, in the past year.
Brotchie says she will be pleased to see more This Is Littleton cast members emerging, on the ABC and other networks.
