It's calling for people from across the country to commit to their goals publicly on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by posting short films or photos showing their healthy lifestyles choices in action.
Zoe Betar is from the NCIE's Lifestyles Innovations team has told NITV that by sharing your resolutions, you're more likely to be successful in maintaining them.
"By having this kind of comepetition where you are sharing it on the media and that way we can see that you're actually sticking to it. And like everything, once you make it a habit, it becomes a lot easier to keep up with it throughout the year. And that's what we're hoping for, just to try to change the mindset of people - set small goals and work towards achieving them."
Meanwhile, 30 short films promoting health messages to remote Northern Territory communities will be launched over the next two months.
The films are devised and written by residents of the communities themselves and will be produced by Darwin based record company, Skinnyfish Music.
