New royal baby fourth in line

The new princess has pushed Uncle Harry into fifth spot in the line of succession, while great Uncle Andrew is relegated to sixth.

The new royal princess is fourth in line to the throne.

Prince Harry has been shifted down the line of succession to fifth in line, while Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, has dropped out of the top five for the first time to sixth place.

The new baby girl will not be overtaken in the line of succession by any future younger brothers. The Succession to the Crown Act came into force in March, removing male bias.

The baby becomes a princess thanks to the Queen, who stepped in before Prince George's birth to ensure all of William's children would become HRHs with fitting titles.

How the line of succession will look once the baby is born:

1. The Prince of Wales

2. The Duke of Cambridge

3. Prince George of Cambridge

4. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second child

5. Prince Henry of Wales (Prince Harry)

6. The Duke of York (Prince Andrew)

7. Princess Beatrice of York

8. Princess Eugenie of York

9. The Earl of Wessex (Prince Edward)

10. Viscount Severn (James, son of Prince Edward)

11. Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor

12. The Princess Royal (Princess Anne)

13. Mr Peter Phillips

14. Miss Savannah Phillips

15. Miss Isla Phillips
