New Skilled Group CEO starts early

Angus McKay takes up his role as Skilled Group's new CEO early so he can take part in the review of Programmed Maintenance Services merger bid.

Skilled Group's new chief executive and managing director will begin his new role on Monday, more than two weeks earlier than his original start date.

Skilled chairman Vickki McFadden says Angus McKay will start early so he can participate in the review of "the unsolicited, conditional and opportunistic" merger proposal by Programmed Maintenance Services.

"Consequently, Mr Michael McMahon will step down as managing director and CEO from 5 January 2015," Skilled said in a statement on Monday.

Mr McKay was due to take over on January 20.
