An Australian scientist is among a team of international researchers that has discovered three new species of vertebrate in an area that he describes as a 'lost world' in far north Queensland.
Research Fellow at James Cook University, Dr James Hoskin, travelled to the remote Cape Melville National Park with other researchers where they discovered a previously unknown gecko, frog and skink.
Dr Hoskin says the discovery of three new species within days of arriving at the previously unexplored part of Cape Melville suggests the area could contain many more unseen species.
He spoke to Naomi Selvaratnam.
