NFL Viking Linval Joseph shot in leg

Usually it's a trip to the Oakland Coliseum that's considered daunting, but a night out in Minnesota after a win over the Raiders saw Linval Joseph shot.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph was struck in the calf by a stray bullet while at a downtown Minneapolis bar after the National Football League team's exhibition game on Friday.

The Vikings said that Joseph suffered minor injuries from the incident which took place at the 400 SoundBar club after the team's 10-6 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Joseph, who was acquired in the offseason from the New York Giants, was treated and released from hospital. He is expected to rejoin the team later this week.

According to the US media, two people were seriously wounded by an unknown gunman that fired several shots early Saturday morning.
