* Becomes the second son to follow in his father's footsteps to win a Formula 1 championship. Keke Rosberg won in 1982, while Graham (1962, 1968) and Damon Hill (1996) are the only other men to have pulled off the feat.

* He set the fastest lap in his debut Grand Prix in Bahrain in 2006.

* Rosberg won his first Grand Prix in his third season with Mercedes, at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix.

* Before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, he had the most GP wins without winning a championship.

* He also had the most pole positions without winning a championship.

* Rosberg became only the fourth driver in history to win seven races in a row when he won the last three in 2015 and the first four in 2016.
