Nielsen joins English Super League Bulls

Troubled centre Dane Nielsen has signed with English Super League club Bradford after being sacked from St George Illawarra in May.

Dane Nielsen has signed a contract with English Super League club Bradford until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old centre, a former Melbourne Storm premiership winner, played for Cronulla and New Zealand Warriors and made three Origin appearances for Queensland from 2011-12, but was released by St George Illawarra in May due to disciplinary issues relating to an assault in a pub.

He is expected to arrive in England in time for the start of the Super 8s Qualifiers in two weeks' time.

Bulls coach James Lowes said he expected Nielson to make a huge impact for his side.

"He will bring a wealth of experience, having played at the highest level for the past nine years or so.

"Obviously we will assess him when he arrives but he certainly isn't coming to train. He is here to play and we have signed him to play in the centres.

"There is a wealth of competition for places out wide but perhaps what we are lacking is a little experience - and he will certainly bring it."
