Nine Entertainment's merger with Fairfax Media has lifted the company into the top 100 on the ASX, with Harvey Norman one of two firms to make way.

Nine Entertainment's merger with Fairfax Media has lifted the company into the top 100 on the ASX.

Nine and engineering firm Worley Parsons will be elevated to the S&P/ASX100 from December 24 at the expense of industrials firm CSR and Harvey Norman, whose falling share price has dropped the electronics and homewares retailer from the index.

Nine and Fairfax completed their merger last week and commenced business as a combined company on Monday.
