No bail for Sydney murder accused

A magistrate has denied bail for a man charged with the stabbing murder of another man found fatally wounded in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

A man charged with the stabbing murder of another man in Sydney's east will remain behind bars after being refused bail.

Roy Abanales Tabalbag, 28, is charged over the fatal stabbing of a 30-year-old man found wounded at a unit on Mona Road, Darling Point, shortly after 11am on Monday (AEDT).

Police arrived at the unit to find the 30-year-old man with stab wounds, and a 28-year-old woman with minor injuries.

The pair were treated at the scene by paramedics, but the man died shortly afterwards.

Tabalbag was arrested on Monday afternoon after walking into St Mary's Police Station in Sydney's west, and was later charged with murder and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Police said they were investigating a possible love triangle link.

On Tuesday at Penrith Local Court, Tabalbag's lawyer did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by magistrate Annette Sinclair.

The court heard an associated apprehended violence order would continue.

The matter was adjourned until January 15 2014.
