No charge over late hit on Todd Carney

Catalans Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous is seething at Lama Tasi avoiding any charge over the hit which left Todd Carney with broken ribs.

A - Former Sydney Roosters prop Lama Tasi will face no sanction over the late hit that left his one-time teammate Todd Carney with broken ribs.

Carney is expected to be sidelined for a month in the fallout from the painful tackle in last round's incredible 40-40 Super League draw between his Catalans Dragons and Tasi's Salford.

Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous is seething at Tasi escaping any charge, saying the prop should be facing a two-month suspension.

"That is ridiculous," Frayssinous said.

"I've got my best player out for a month and there is no charge.

"They have said the contact was accidental but they must be kidding. It's bullshit.

"It was definitely deliberate. Lama Tasi should be out for two months. I need to give the chairman of the panel a ring."

Former NRL journeyman Mickey Paea, meanwhile, will face a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) after being accused of raising his knees in a tackle on Leeds loose forward Jamie Jones-Buchanan in Hull's 43-12 defeat last Thursday.

Paea was charged with the grade B offence, which carries a ban of one or two matches, after it was considered by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel.
