Fijian police say Australia has not asked them to hunt down serial conman Peter Foster, despite reports he's fled there.
The 51-year-old has been on the run for more than a month after being found guilty of contempt of court for flouting a ban on participating in the weight-loss industry.
He was sentenced in absentia last week to three years in jail and media reports say he's fled to Fiji on a false passport.
But police there say they're yet to be briefed by Australian authorities.
"So far there is nothing," Assistant Superintendent of Police Rusiate Tudravu told AAP on Monday.

"How we came to know is through the media - no correspondence through the state and federal police."
Australian authorities have remained tight-lipped.
Australian Federal Police said a new warrant was issued on October 24 for Foster's arrest, and it was enforceable in any police jurisdiction.
"As this is a matter for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) it is not appropriate for the AFP to comment further," the AFP told AAP in a statement.
The ACCC, which pursued Foster for breaching the ban, has not responded to AAP's request for comment.
Customs and Border Protection said it could not provide comment on the movements of individual travellers.
