No medals for Aussies in dual moguls

After gold on day one of competition to Britt Cox, Australians were out of the medals on day two at the freestyle skiing and snowboard world championships.

There was no more gold in the Spanish hills for Australian moguls skiers with world champion Britt Cox losing in the quarter-finals of the dual event on Thursday.

Cox had iced a stunning World Cup season by winning the singles event at the freestyle skiing and snowboard world championships in Sierra Nevada on Wednesday.

But she could only manage a seventh in the non-Olympic event, beaten into the semi-finals by eventual silver medallist from Kazakhstan, Yulia Galysheva.

Perrine Laffont from France, runner-up to Cox on Wednesday, claimed the title with American Jaelin Kauf third.

Matt Graham, who had a disappointing day one where he finished 14th after coming into the event as a strong medal chance, was 10th and best of the Australian men.

The men's event was taken out by singles moguls winner Ikuma Horishima of Japan with American Bradley Wilson second and Siwss Marco Tade third.

The dual discipline - which features moguls racers going head-to-head - is not featured at the Winter Olympics and plays second fiddle to moguls on the World Cup circuit.
