Kane Evans won't be making a habit of repeating his monster shoulder charge on Sam Kasiano, according to his Sydney Roosters captain Jake Friend.
Evans was set a warning letter by the NRL over the first half hit on Canterbury's Kasiano in the Roosters' win last weekend, but wasn't cited by the match review committee.
However the onfield penalty given by referee Matt Cecchin following the tackle helped to swing momentum the Bulldogs' way and Friend said it was a lesson learned by his team.
"I'm sure our boys will be told not to do it," Friend said.
"The penalty doesn't help on the day and if you do get suspended then you can miss a few weeks. I'm sure Robbo (coach Trent Robinson) will be telling them to cut it out.
"Kane is pretty confident within himself you can see that with his haircut. But he was actually a bit disappointed after the game for giving the penalty away.
"He was also worried about being suspended so it is great to have him available this weekend."
Roosters five-eighth James Maloney concurred with his skipper.
"It is not ideal because we did concede a penalty against us (for Evans' tackle) and in the context of the game it did help swing momentum their way," Maloney said.
"We don't need to be conceding penalties like that."
