Kieran Foran says he has no regrets about joining Parramatta, as speculation of potential NRL salary cap breaches mount at the club.
Fresh claims that the club had illegally manipulated third-party deals rocked the Eels again on Thursday, but star recruit Foran insists he has had no second thoughts about moving to Parramatta from Manly.
"I couldn't be happier," Foran told Sky Sports Radio's Big Sports Breakfast.
"I haven't looked back once in terms of the move I made.
"I'm completely comfortable with the situation now and what's going on.
"I hear nothing of the dramas."
Foran's transfer was seen as a beacon of hope to the club's fans after years of internal struggles had combined with a six-year drought from finals football - the longest in the NRL.
His deal didn't come without a reminder of those struggles though.
It originally contained a clause which stated he would be free to leave the club with a $1 million payout if the club's political dramas flared again.
The clause was eventually rejected by the NRL, but its significance was highlighted when the Eels were threatened with a four-point penalty if they didn't solve governance issues by the end of last month.
Parramatta passed that test, however the latest revelations surrounding improper third-party deals mean the club is again under review and under threat of hefty penalties which could potentially include loss of competition points.
But Foran says a backflip from the Parramatta deal was never something he had on his mind.
"That was more the guidance from my manager," he said.
"It was something he spoke about, that he thought was a necessary clause to put in there to protect me from what had happened in the past and what not.
"I was more focused on the footy component of it, the advantages and improvements I could make in my game moving to Parramatta."
Made captain last month, Foran was confident he would be able to make his debut for the club against North Queensland on Saturday night, after missing last week's season opener with a hamstring injury.
"I've tested it flat out on Monday and gave it another test yesterday and it all came through fine," he said.
"Fingers crossed that I get through the captain's run on Friday and I get through the game."
