The change in the attitude of voters means that there is now no longer any seat that can be taken for granted, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has warned his Liberal colleagues that normally safe seats can no longer be taken for granted.

"In today's political environment, there is a greater number than ever before of uncommitted voters and that means that there is no such thing as a safe seat any more, not even on 12.8 per cent," Mr Frydenberg told The Age.

Mr Frydenberg, who holds the seat of Kooyong in Melbourne, is among a raft of Liberals in blue-ribbon seats facing stiff competition from high-profile challengers at the May 18 election.
