Nokia says it will release a budget large-screened smartphone in February.
The Lumia 1320 sports a six-inch display, placing it in the so-called phablet category of devices, sized midway between a phone and a tablet.
It will cost $449 when it goes on sale on February 4 through Telstra, Vodafone, and major retailers.
That makes it about $400 cheaper than the premium Lumia 1520 phablet, but with several hardware sacrifices including poorer screen resolution and processing power.
The phone has a 720p display, 1.7 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a five megapixel camera.
It comes pre-loaded with Windows Phone 8 software and with a full-suite of Microsoft Office applications, placing a high priority on productivity.
"The Lumia 1320's larger screen lets you easily check email and access Office documents delivering more on-the-go functionality," said Nokia Australia's Managing Director, Steve Lewis.
