Novak Djokovic becomes a dad again

Novak and Jelena Djokovic welcome their second child just days after Serena Williams gave birth to her first in a busy 'baby' week for grand slam champions.

Novak Djokovic's wife Jelena has given birth to a baby girl, their second child, in yet another parenthood milestone during the staging of this year's US Open.

The Djokovics celebrated the arrival of baby Tara, according to Serbian newspaper, The Blic, and other tennis media. The pair already have a three-year-old son, Stefan.

Djokovic's former coach Boris Becker congratulated the couple on Twitter, saying "Wonderful news from Jelena /Novak!!!"

Djokovic's family expansion comes just days after Serena Williams and partner Alexis Ohanian announced the birth of their first child, a daughter.

Both Djkovic and Williams are US Open champions. The Serb has won twice in New York and Williams five times.

But the former world No.1 Djokovic skipped this year's event, as well as opting to sit out the rest of the 2017 season, because of an elbow injury.

He has said he will return to action at the start of 2018, which means he can have a crack at a seventh Australian Open crown. He won his sixth in 2016 when he beat Andy Murray in the final.
