James Graham's biting 'accusation' against Jake Marketo is unlikely to go further, with the Canterbury skipper declining to make a formal complaint against the St George Illawarra back-rower.
In one of the more unusual incidents in the first week of the NRL finals, Graham complained to referee Jared Maxwell he had been bitten midway through the second half of the Bulldogs' dramatic 11-10 win over the Dragons on Saturday at ANZ Stadium.
As a scrum was about to pack, Graham pulled Maxwell aside and said: "I'm not making accusations but look at that" and pointed to his arm.
Marketo quickly replied that he couldn't have bitten Graham because he was wearing a mouthguard.
Graham didn't push the issue any further and no official complaint was made to Maxwell. As such, the NRL match review committee is unlikely to take the matter further when it sits down on Monday to discuss issues arising from the first week of the finals.
The Bulldogs skipper, who was suspended for 12 matches for biting Billy Slater in the 2012 grand final, downplayed the issue at the post-game media conference.
"There was absolutely nothing in it - nothing in it at all," Graham said.
However, Graham's Bulldogs teammates Sam Kasiano and Frank Pritchard could be in trouble after being put on report for an ugly tackle on Gareth Widdop.
