NRL launches touch football league

A touch football league encompassing NRL teams in both men's and women's divisions will be launched next month, with matches played as curtain-raisers.

The NRL is poised to launch six-team men's and women's touch football premierships.

Matches will be played from next month as curtain-raisers to NRL fixtures, with the competitions to include six NRL clubs in men's and women's divisions.

"They will be aligned with NRL clubs, playing on the main pitch and in front of broadcast cameras," Touch Football Australia Steve Mitchell said on Wednesday.
