NRL star Mitchell Pearce will not face any charge over a nightclub incident at Sydney's Kings Cross early on Sunday.

Police say their investigation has been closed after a woman declined to make a statement and didn't wish to take any action against the NSW State of Origin and Sydney Roosters halfback.

Following a complaint from a nightclub patron around 1.30am on Sunday, Pearce was spoken to by police and escorted out of the premises.

He was issued with an infringement notice involving a fine for failing to leave licensed premises when required and slapped with a 48-hour ban from the area.

On Monday night, a woman made contact with police and spoke to investigators.

Police said she wished to remain anonymous and did not want to take any action against Pearce.
