An increase in judiciary points for NRL grand finals and State of Origin games is one of a number of proposals that could be put in front of the ARL Commission next month.
Ahead of Sunday's decider between Melbourne and Cronulla, players can dream about the real possibility of not having to miss the biggest games of the year for small indiscretions.
It means finals games and Origin matches could be worth more in a system that currently banishes any player for any 100-point total accrued in the judiciary system.
"That's been presented, but we've got another formal meeting to discuss all the options available to us," NRL head of football Brian Canavan told AAP.
"That was presented at the last meeting, which was six weeks ago. We just decided to wait until the end of the season before we actually start throwing proposals at the Commission."
The success of the lone extra-time game in the North Queensland-Brisbane semi-final is also considered a success, and the merits of it returning to the regular season will be debated.
The governing body has only changed to extra time for golden point in this year's finals series.
"We had a great one to look at in the finals," Canavan said.
"Generally speaking, the teams and the public have received it very well. I couldn't imagine there'd be much negativity surrounding that change for finals ongoing.
"As for bringing it into the regular season, that's up for debate. That part goes down to the competition committee. We'll have that meeting in November."
