NRL's Mitchell Pearce arrested: report

Sydney Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce has reportedly been arrested in Kings Cross.

Sydney Roosters NRL halfback Mitchell Pearce has been arrested after an early morning incident outside a Kings Cross nightclub.

Police spoke to 25-year-old Pearce inside a Roslyn St club about 1.30am on Sunday after receiving a complaint about him and he was escorted outside by security.

He was arrested outside after allegedly becoming argumentative and refusing to leave the area.

He was taken to Kings Cross police station where he was issued with an infringement notice and an order banning him from the area for 48 hours.

It's understood Pearce is facing a fine.

Incumbent halfback Pearce was seen as a certain selection for the NSW team in State of Origin series which starts on May 28 and it remains to be seen what effect the Kings Cross incident has on those chances.

He had helped spark premiers the Roosters to a 30-6 NRL win against Wests Tigers on Friday night.
