The looming NSW budget is set to include a $150 million boost for ambulances, with cash to hire an extra 100 paramedics, Health Minister Jillian Skinner says.
The package will include almost $13 million to bankroll 85 new paramedics in metro and regional areas, and $5.1 million to finish recruiting 35 specialist paramedics two years earlier than forecast.
"This investment will allow NSW Ambulance to meet the demand placed upon its services, now and into the future, and allow our paramedics to respond faster from strategically-based locations," Ms Skinner said on Thursday.
