NSW baby remains critical after 'cot fall'

An 11-month-old girl remains in critical condition in a Sydney hospital with head injuries after allegedly falling from her cot in Lithgow, NSW.

A baby girl continues to fight for life after allegedly falling from a cot in the NSW town of Lithgow, as police continue investigations.

The 11-month-old was found with head injuries at a Lithgow home by emergency services on Sunday night.

She was airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital in a critical condition where she's undergone surgery and police on Tuesday said her condition remains unchanged.

Police have been told the girl fell from the cot.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad have been brought in to investigate the case.

The 11-month-old had been living in the Lithgow home with her carer, reportedly her aunt. However the woman was not at home when the incident occurred and her male partner was the one who called emergency services.

Police say the pair is co-operating with authorities and no charges have been laid
