NSW bikie clubhouse dismantled after raid

A NSW clubhouse of the Life and Death bikie gang is being dismantled following a police raid.

A bikie clubhouse is being dismantled following a police raid in which alcohol and a gun were seized at a suspected unlicensed bar in NSW's Hunter region.

Police executed a search warrant at the Boolaroo clubhouse of the Life and Death outlaw motorcycle gang's Newcastle chapter at about 11am (AEDT) on Thursday.

Officers seized a .22 calibre rifle, a large bar containing several fridges full of beer and spirits, a stage, a pool table and other furnishings.

Police said they also located evidence that alcohol was being sold inside the property.

No one was at the property at the time, but individuals who attended while the warrant was underway were questioned by police.

Lake Macquarie Local Area Commander Superintendent Brett Greentree said his officers were committed to working with the Gangs Squad to disrupt outlaw bikie activity in the area.

"Any time we suspect a law is being broken, whether it is for a traffic infringement, running an unlicensed bar, possessing a firearm, or any other offence, we will make our presence felt," he says.

Charges are expected to be laid in coming days, police says.
